On December 10, 2025, the Broward Education Foundation hosted a remarkable breakfast ceremony honoring distinguished alumni of Broward County Public Schools. Gathered at the First Baptist Fort Lauderdale, this sold-out event celebrated the outstanding achievements of seven alumni who have excelled in the fields of education, business, and community service.
Honorees Leading Change in Their Fields
This year’s honorees were a testament to the profound impact of quality education. Winners of the Broward Teachers Union Education Achievement Award included:
- Jennifer Andreu, Executive Director of Procurement & Logistics Operations, Plantation High School, Class of 1989.
- Melissa Holtz, Director of Elementary Learning, JP Taravella High School, Class of 1990.
- Rosheika Rolle, Acting Principal at Charles Drew Elementary School, Miramar High School, Class of 2001.
Also honored were the Community Achievement Award recipients:
- Terri-Ann Bennett, M.D., Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Blanche Ely High School, Class of 2002.
- Michael Lessne, Managing Partner of Lessne Hoffman PLLC, Nova High School, Class of 2001.
