Celebrating 40 Years of Educational Impact
This September marks a significant milestone for South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary (SFBC), celebrating 40 years of Christ-centered education that has transcended borders and cultures. Founded in 1985 by Dr. Joseph Guadagnino, SFBC has grown from a humble Bible institute into an accredited institution, drawing students from over 43 nations and 20 U.S. states. It stands as a beacon of faith-driven perseverance, having weathered numerous challenges—from financial strains due to the COVID-19 pandemic to a prolonged accreditation journey.
Adapting and Thriving in Changing Times
Under the leadership of President Dr. Mary Drabik, SFBC has not only survived but thrived. With a commitment to equipping believers for diverse purposes, the college now offers over a dozen master's, bachelor’s, and associate degrees, including new programs in business and nursing slated for fall. The college's efforts to foster holistic development encompass both spiritual growth and practical skills, emphasizing business acumen, mental health counseling, and leadership training. As Dr. Drabik eloquently puts it, “The future is about developing the whole person—spirit, mind, and body.”
A Community-Centered Institution
Beyond academics, SFBC has fostered collaborations with community leaders and organizations, broadening its impact. Innovative programs like the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) cater to international students needing language improvement, serving hundreds annually. Furthermore, the College Academy offers high school students the unique opportunity to earn dual credits, paving their way for advanced education.
Resilience Through Adversity
As the institution reflects on its 40-year journey, the narrative is laced with themes of resilience and faith. “We’re still here,” states Dr. Thomas Drabik, emphasizing the college's commitment against challenges posed by an ever-changing educational landscape. The ongoing support from faculty and community partners, along with a renewed vision, positions SFBC on the path to further growth and influence in the years to come.
