Empowering the Next Generation
The importance of mentorship cannot be overstated; a consistent, caring relationship with an adult role model can significantly alter a young person's life trajectory. This year’s recognition also celebrated High School Bigs, including Josiah Ferguson and Juliana Pineda, who have taken the initiative to support younger peers. Other honorees included the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, chosen as Igniters of Big Futures, and Michelle McNab-Hemans, named Defender of Potential. Each individual and organization recognized played a key role in championing the potential of local youth through mentoring.
